Hello, I recently have swaped my dock connector with a new one. everything workt fine (except for the dock-connector) and after the replacement my home-button stopt registering my finger, but does register my ‘‘press’‘ on the button with a vibration an action on the screen. when i try to setup my fingerprint it shows that i have to put my finger on the home button. an when i do that nothing happens…..
I have read that it could be give a message like, your home button is not acitvated, but my phone doesn’t give that message at all. and it also gives no vibration no action on the screen littery nothing shows up and i don’t no what is have to do in this case. so PLEASE help me!
hi, From experience, this can happen because of two things: slight damage to The home button cable( the one from the display) or it’s not properly sitting in 100% flush with the board. or secondary, the device needs a power cycle. you can do this but disconnecting the battery, hold the power button for 5-10 secs, plug battery back in and force reset( hold power button and volume down) ( Apple logo will show up than the phone will shut off again) and see if that results in the home button working again. I would also try a new display( if you have one spare) to see if the issue still persist. this is with the assumption that you haven’t touched the physical touch button in any way.
You don’t need to buy a new screen assembly. You only have to change the iluminator panel on the back of the display. It’s not that hard to change it but it requires patiente and heat.
