Recently, I was replacing the from assembly for my iPhone 4 when I accidently ripped the digitizer’s ribbon cable. Is there anyway to repai or fix the ribbon cable? Or will I have to buy an entire new front assembly?
you will have to buy a new touchscreen + lcd. I’ve read about some people who are able to put them back together but I don’t think not just anybody can do this. Try to look for decent replacement parts, been have some trouble with glass being to thick so the button sit’s to deep… have a nice repair here is the link iPhone 4 (CDMA/Verizon) Screen Replacement
Ribbon cable is tricky. Your best bet it so Ebay a replacement part.
Problem is that it’s not seeding right not that the glass is to thick. I wouldn’t buy parts off eBay. I used a place close to cincinnati they have a ship in service. Parts are high quality, fast shipping and super nice people.
Spliced / Damaged flex cable are not so easy to fix as they make them look. It takes experience to do so. Those who show you how to do them on youtube have done many before and messed up many until they hot their experience Celltronic Wireless & Electronic Repairs
