Chosen Solution
The digitizer connector of my iPod was accidentally torn when I opened it to dry it. I think the rest of it is stuck under the display part.The screen is working but the touch doesn’t. What do I do now? Please HELP
You’ll probably have to replace the entire display assembly. You cannot reattach the torn off connector.

You need a lcd and digitizer as the stock ones are glued together and cannot be separated without breaking the lcd. They sell the parts on ebay and is cheaper if you buy them separately rather than pre assembled.
