Hi there, I was so close to the finish line! I had just laid down a new battery onto new adhesive strips in an iphone 5c, and thought I was on the road home to reassembly. I laid down the phone on my desk and a little threaded part popped out. Oh no! It was not something involved in the repair I did. I have no idea where it came from, though it seemed to pop out near the lightning port end of the phone. Attaching pictures

Looks like the screw post on the bottom of the screen.
