Solved The Right Side Of The Screen Is Black But I Don T Think Its The Tcon Samsung Television

I have checked the tcon and I have noticed that this ribbon when touched will make my screen work again but will turn black again once I stop touching it. I have included a photo.

If anyone knows what these chips and banners are at the bottom please let me know, it’ll be much appreciated.

David C you are correct that the issue is not your T-Con board. The issue here is that your TV panel has a failed TAB connection. The small ribbon cable is what connects your LCD driver board to the panel. The board is actually considered part of the panel and since the ribbon cable is connected directly to the LCD via a method called “Tape Automated Bonding fault (TAB fault). Sometimes you can fix it temporarily by tightly placing a strip of silk tape adhesive over it and enable the ribbon cable to make connection with the LCD. Sometimes you can also wedge something between the plastic bezel and the ribbon cable to exert pressure to close the contacts. This is not a permanent fix. There are companies out there that can replace it but shipping plus the repair most often costs more than a new TV. Same holds true for finding a replacement panel.
