device: ASUS A3F problem: the PC doesn’t get energy description: the PC starts to not get energy by the power pack. First we try to change power pack, but it doesn’t work, the second power pack work better but only in some positions, I mean, the ending part of the cable had to be bent up, or down, only same position worked. Then a day it stops to work in those postion and the PC doesn’t longer work. I think the problem is in the PC, not in the cable, but I’m not an expert, so what I should do? Hi, Giovanni. (I’m italian, sorry if I made some error or I don’t am plain and for the low quality of the images, I don’t have better)

Giovanni Riva, use a multimeter (voltmeter) and measure the output of your power supply. You should get 19V at the tip. Keep the meter attached and move the cable around, to see if there is a break on the connector. If you power supply works properly, I would suggest that the problem is the DC connector in your computer. you may to disassemble it and use your voltmeter at the DC jack. It does sound like it is either loose on the board or the jack is not making proper contact. You may have to replace it. Hope this helps, good luck.

Please use the VOM and test the power cord. You can use it in another device for you sure is working or now. Test too the outlet wall if there are voltage. Use desk lamp if working is o.k The problem is the power cord. If the power cord is o.k, the problem is the power supply or main switch test for open or faulty.
