Need your guides how to fix it, my ipad warranty is expired. according to apple repair this item cannot repair need to replace 1 to 1. since the warranty expired than i need to up the money MYR 1,300. Please guide me what should i do? it’s logical board? its flash problem, or something else please advice.
Thanks
Sorry to say to repair this will require a new logic board. You just can’t replace the flash chip due to how the logic board is designed (SMT). And it will be costly! Not really economical to repair. If you tried desoldering the chip you will likely disturb or damage other components as they are so tightly packed. While not quite the same layout you can review Step 13 in the iPad2 teardown to get an idea on how things are laid out iPad 2 Teardown. Frankly I haven’t seen this flash chip available as a replacement chip from anyone (you can buy sticks of a 1000 units from the manufacture). Which makes even the thought pointless. The error condition is clearly a flash cell failure that can’t be remapped by the onboard controller to a different cell (likely all of the spare cells have been used). This is a part defect nothing you could have done in the short time you had your iPad that could explain this. You really need to contact Apple (up the food-chain) to get this fixed. Don’t take no as the answer here from the front line people speak with the the service manager at the Apple Store then the store manager and if that doesn’t work press them to speak with someone higher. Make sure you have as clean a system (no dirt buildup) and if you don’t have one get a case with a cover lid. Also make copies of your receipt of purchase of your iPad or your bank statement (if you don’t have the original receipt). Black out your bank account info and other charges and what you have in your account (You don’t need to tell them how rich or poor you are). If you used a credit card same thing, but I would give them the last four digits of your card. Also check with your local government on what your laws are for warrantee coverage. In some countries they have longer periods of mandatory coverage.
Its 100% Not the Logic Board. I have repaired over a dozen iphones and iPads with Nand Flash errors at bootup. This is a Hardware related failure. You need to strat disconnecting each flex cable individually until you figure out which flex cable is defective. On the iPhones its usually the Proximity Sensor Light Flex Cable….. http://www.etechparts.com/Proximity-Sens… On the iPads its usually the interconnection Board flex cable… http://www.etechparts.com/Interconnectio…. I have repaired this Nand Flash error over a dozen times with 100% Success.. Hope this helps you guys out…. www.StevesiPhoneRepairs.com
http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/assist… try this or http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3274 ? or this https://discussions.apple.com/thread/512… try charging fully and then connecting to itunes whilst holding home button,http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.p…
Unhook the daughter board run ipad off just the logic batter. This error is possibly a bad daughar not completely sure yet but this worked. After Ipad boots up fine hook it back up and it should work!
I Recently had this with an iPad 3, it turned out to be the rear camera that was causing this error and draining the battery, after replacing the rear camera, its all working again, as Steve iPhones said above, its best to disconnect all flex cables and you will find it will most likely boot up, make sure your battery reads at least 3.6V or it will not boot. iPhoneBits
Is there some place I can send my iPad II and get it repaired? I get the same Nand errors as listed above but I am not knowledgeable about iPads enough to repair it myself.
