My technika tv has just started to hiss, a puff of smoke from the top. It has no picture but does have sound. Any ideas at what I need to replace?
Steve Fishwick MP3618-V50 is your power board. If you found failed parts on that it is best to replace the complete board. Unusual to still have sound but possible that this just affected the LED’s for your display. you can always try to clean it up and resolder those connections. Sometimes a bad solder connection can do that. Also check the components marked Q15, R137,R138,R77,R78 . I would go with a new power board first.
