I have a Technics SU-V7X home amplifier and it works except when I plug anything into the rca inputs on the back and turn on the amp and select it I have to turn up the volume knob to max and the tweeter in my speaker plays very little of what music I’m playing, but if I plug that rca cable from my source into direct input it works like a charm but there’s only 1 of those and I wanna connect my new vinyl players and my Bluetooth receiver, so what causes the selector input to not work?
You don’t say what the “source”. This is very important as it determines which ports to use. You are possibly just plugging into the wrong RCA ports. Here’s a start. Download Technic service manual: https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_librar… What do you mean by the term “direct input”? This amp has: Tape2/VCR (2 ports - Playback & Rec Out)TV/Aux1Video/Aux2CdTunerPhono (MM/MC which is to do with the cartridge type on the turntable. MM phono preamps work with Moving Magnet (MM) cartridges. MC phono preamps work with Moving Coil (MC) cartridges )Tape 1Video (various in & outputs) This link will take you to a photo of the ports: https://www.canuckaudiomart.com/details/… Does this help? Much later. . . Of course why didn’t I see this! You need to connect the left ouput to the left input and the right input to the right output, where the equalizer would have been. Who ever had the amp before you had an equalizer and didn’t put ther jumpers back in when they sold it. 99% sure this is the answer. It was!
