I had my 50 inch 4k setup vertically for portrait mode. The bottom was resting on a pillow. My cat just knocked a whole glass of water onto the tv, and it collected at the bottom where the tv was resting on the pillow. Some water clearly penetrated as the the screen now has these brighter blotches especially at the end where the water collected. It’s working perfectly besides that, but I understand internal components may start to corrode as well. I unplugged it…. Is there anything I can do? Is it worth trying to repair? I’m capable of opening it up and doing some soldering if need be. Or is it not worth the time and effort?

@seff07 sure it is always a good thing to at least try to repair it. At this point you want to at least remove the back cover from your TV and investigate. Find out what parts got exposed. Clean all of that with some 90% or higher isopropyl alcohol to remove the water and to try to prevent corrosion damage. It is possible that this is the location of your LCD driver board or at least the connection to your panel, so be careful that you do not damage any of the thin ribbon cables etc. Post some good images of what you find with your QUESTION.
