It used to take about 30 minutes to run through a load of laundry - regular wash. Now, the machine seems to stop on the rinse cycle for an hour or so. We can open the lid and the washing machine is full of water, but nothing is happening. If we let it run, it will eventually get to the spin cycle. Any ideas?

Tom  very old question and the answer is for completion sake only. It is possible that the time gets prolonged due to increased filling time. Check the water inlet valve screens. Turn your water off and disconnected the hoses. At the inlet valve side you’ll find two screens that act as a filter. Remove those and see if your washer will fill faster and decrease the wash time. The only other thing after that could be the timer itself. For further repair on that we would have needed the exact model number.
