Hey, my brand new iphone 5s takes hours to charge, it takes 2 hours to charge to 20%. I got it 3 days ago and i have tried to charge it computer, wall, charge bank, and if i use it while im charging it, the battery procents keep dropping. I thought it was maybe because one of my apps requires more rush than the phone is getting so i resparted the whole iphone but nothing has changed. Is there anything to be done with it? Really sucks when i have just bought it.
Steps to follow if you cannot return the device and are using genuine Apple charger and cable or at least genuine cable and a computer USB port. Test after each step: 1/ Clean the charging port. Use a needle and finish with IPA. 2/ Try a new charging port first, then a new battery. Use only quality parts such as those sold here on iFixit. Guide for charging dock replacement. Guide for battery replacement. These guides feature also links to the needed parts and tools. 3/ Take or send to a technician or shop that offers Microsoldering board repair. They will diagnose and fix it for you, as at this point it can be the a chip failure (commonly known as U2 in iPhone 5).
Could be either a defective battery or the actual charging port isn’t in good shape. Either way, I’d say complain to the provider.
If the phone is new then return the phone under the warranty.
