If all else fails you can try a hard reset which will wipe all your data and start you from new. This is done by pressing the start button and the up volume button at the same time . Hold them both down till the machine starts . you will see probably the android and then a selection menu . Use your volume to scroll up and down the menu . Select factory reset and then yes wipe data and it will reformat the tablet and it will start from new. Hope this helps.
Try removing the battery. With the battery out hold the power button down for 60 seconds. But the battery back in and try turning it back on. If the light comes on the LCD screen could be ruined. Might have to change that. But doing the first step i said fixes quite a few issues.
Check the place where you plug in the charger. Sometimes the prong inside gets a tiny bent. Wiggle it a bit with some tweezers and you should be good to go. I used to refurbish tablets and it happens with all brands. This may also work on your phone if you ever have the same problem.
