Aloha All, My friend has a Apple PowerBook G3 400. The powerbook laptop battery is dead and will not charge. I have removed the battery and just plugged in the AC Adapter. The system will still not start up. Could it be that I will need to get a replacement battery to get the system to boot? Thanks, supertechhawaii

Before you worry about the battery pull the PRAM battery–its easy just open the keyboard. I’ll include a link for you. In these models a bad PRAM battery will keep the computer from booting and you can run it without the battery. You do not need to disconnect the keyboard to disconnect the battery. Good luck.
