Hey everybody, So I’ve got these grey lines against a black background, and the GPU is good. Does anyone know if this is an LVDS cable issue or if I have to replace the entire panel? Thanks
I’m not sure there is anything you can do to fix this. Take a look at this guide: iMac Intel 20" EMC 2133 and 2210 LCD Backlights (CCFL) Replacement As you can see your display uses two CCFL lamps. These shine into the defuser sheets which then offers out an even light to the LCD panel. I’m thinking dust build up on the lamps maybe the cause. The fact its even stripe from top to bottom could also be the LCD crystals are not evenly spread out in the glass sandwich during manufacturing. So this would have been visible before now. Replacing the screen would likely be the only solution but this is such an old system I doubt you’ll find one in good shape any more.
