Hello, I am looking to upgrade to a 4,1 Macbook Core 2 Duo. What I am wondering is, if it is possible for me to just remove my HD from the old (Core Duo) Macbook, and install it into the new (Core 2 Duo) Macbook and it will boot right up as normal with all of my settings and files still intact as if nothing happened?

Yes, with Mac’s you can pull the HD from one and stick it in another and it will boot right up with all your information and settings.

If you now have two machines, you can hook them up via a Firewire cable, start in Target Mode (T key) and clone your old drive to the new one using something like SuperDuper: http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/S
