I was following the “remove heatsink” guide… I removed the bottom case, no problem… but when it was the time to remove the upper 2.4mm T5 torx screw… it stripped and now i cannot remove it! How can i remove that screw? And if this is not enough one of the 3mm pentalobe screw of the bottom stripped too! so what can i do?!? please help me! Sorry for my bad english

I had the exact same thing happen to me on a Mac. I used a screw extractor (about $5 from a local tool store). It worked great. I hate those darn T5’s and smaller screws.

Use a 1.3mm flat head bit. Might have to give a small amount of force but it worked for me.

First try a different bit of the same size as your T5 bit is most likely stripped. If that does not work, this is the trick I sometimes use: take a rubber band and put it over the screw, then use a marker to indicate where the screw is under the band. Put the T5 bit into the marked off area and try to loosen the screw.

First get a flat head screwdriver and give it a couple of taps with a hammer and see if you can undo it that way If you are going to use the dremel just use it to cut a small grove in the head for a flat screwdriver instead of breaking the screw with it

I hate Apple. They have this garbage hardware dressed up in their software. I tried taking the screws out to replace the battery and they ALL stripped and now its garbage. Can’t change the battery. And for the record, I am not some nit-wit that can’t handle a screwdriver of any kind, I work on computers all the time. But this macbook pro t5 screws really screwed me. Bought a new SSD and RAM which where both easy to replace and then this battery screws me. Garbage. Garbage. Garbage. I will never purchase another Apple product. I lie, I’ll buy some Apple stuff. I got wrapped up in my emotions. Still though, cheap a__ __ T5 screws. My lenovo has better quality screws on it.
