Hi all, I repairs phones and tablets regularly. My Dad is an IT tech and ex microelectronics apprentice. He recently had a screen repair on an iPhone 8 which went fine but they also asked for the rear glass to be replaced so he went ahead and replace the whole chassis/rear frame. The phone will no longer power on. I have done a full teardown and rebuild and I cannot find a single fault. I have also tried a new battery, however it has been sitting for a long time so I’ve ordered another just incase. My Dad is extremely careful with pry tools etc, probably more careful than myself who can be a bit ham fisted. Can anyone think of a reason why the phone will no longer switch on after a rear case replacement? This is really frustrating me trying to work this out and any help would be much appreciated.

I have a similar issue with a customer iPhone 8 Refurb. Put the motherboard into the new housing and connected the charger flex and nothing. But if I install the flex outside of the housing just to test phone boots. I am unsure myself on whats the issue but I am assuming the housing is shorting somewhere. I wonder if you have the same issue :) Try it with the bare minimum in the housing, Charging Flex, Logic Board, Battery and Screen. Try to power up without the charging flex connected then try with it connected. If it boots add parts one by one till you find the issue
