Scott Irwin “put gas in carburetor it starts and dies out” sounds like a stuck needle valve or bad fuel solenoid. Take the carb off, clean it and check the float level and needle valve. Here is the parts manual for your engine Briggs & Stratton 42707. I also attached the service manual for the carburetion of your engine B&S Carburetion Carburetor overhaul kits are available at places like this and many others.
