hello, i’m a IT tech and im doing a repair for my grandmother. this is my first ipad repair. although it went very well after ordering some parts, the original screen i started with which was fine; only the glass was broken in several places. now that same screen displays static and lines. i have checked the ribbon cable several times over and all connections and i cannot seem to find the problem on why its suddenly doing this just as im about to finish it up. any help would be appreciated. thnx.
iPad 4 LCD cable cannot be removed independently. However cleaning connector with 90%+ IPA then trying to reseat is a good start. Otherwise either LCD is damaged, cable has been pinched/torn, or screen connector on the board or its plastic tab are damaged. If reseating doesn’t help, try a new known good screen. If this still doesn’t solve it (or even before testing with a new LCD) examine the cable using a magnifying glass, and go over the connector on the board. Do you see anything wrong?
I have never heard of this before. I think you did not properly replace the LCD digitizer.
