Ok, here’s the deal. I have this MacBook Pro, it had a bad battery so I ordered a new one (cheap China version). I put it in and did not get recognized. Opened up the machine again and took my goggles on and saw some corrosion where the battery connector is, as well as where the USB, Ethernet connections are. So I used a electronic cleaning spray to remove it and used a coffee filter to take off the spray. Just layed it on top of it. Now the charger light is green, and I have checked with my multimeter that I can find voltage all over the board without leaks. With both charger and battery only. But it won’t start up. Any tips or tricks? Update 5/21/16
I let the battery discharge over the night and tried holding the power button for 15 sec to get SMC to reset. Still does not turn on. However, the battery indication light lights up now, but on the third led and it is stuck there. The MagSafe light is steady green and always have been. So there is some positive things happening, but not much. I’ve also tested the voltage on the battery connector, I only get 1.5 volts on each pin that is not ground and system. Is that enough or is this the problem? Cleaned the MagSafe board for residue and some metal pieces that was stuck on the robber due to the magnet, Got a little more voltage from the cable from the MagSafe card, but not much! What is weird is that I get so much more voltage on the logic board then the cable tells me. I am no electrition, but how can it multiply by 3 when there is only 2 cables giving 0.40 volts and I get 1.3 on the logic board. However, as for my knowledge this is the MagSafe board that is not powering the unit. Am I correct?
Remove the magsafe, disconnect the battery, Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds, Now reconnect and tell us your results.
