I have replaced the starter on my 2000 chevy cavalier with 2.2L engine 2 times in 3 days, it works great at first but will not disengage, there is nothing wrong with the flywheel, not sure how to fix it or what to check.

Check the spacer in the nose end of the stater. If it is missing the bendix gear will extend to far into the flywheel causing it to hang in the engaged position.
