My 2003 Chevy Cavalier will not start. When I turn the key there is nothing. All the lights and the power windows work. The battery tested good. How can I tell if this is a starter problem or a solenoid. There is no clicking or any sound when turning the key.
knightflee, you can check the starter by jumping the solenoid. Check this video at around 1.00" to see where to apply the jump. If it works you know your starter is okay but are having issues with the solenoid circuit. when you do this, make sure that your parking brake is applied, that you are not in gear etc. You do not want to run yourself, or anybody else over. Here is some great information on how to check the circuit.
