Chosen Solution

Is there a way of any sort to have access to Spotify on an iPod Nano 3rd gen (A1236)? I think the major problem would be to have it connect to a Wi-Fi network. Maybe a possible solution is to make the iPod be a piggyback of a mobile phone where you have Spotify, but idk. Problem is Spotify won’t let you sync your iPod when you connect it to your pc so there’s no way to download your entire Spotify library to your iPod. I found there are some programs that claim to be able to do it, but they have two major problems: 1 - you have to select each song and drag it onto the program; 2 - they are quite expensive (30-40$) whereas most iPod mods can be done with less expense. Big thanks to anyone who’ll answer!

Sadly, the iPod just doesn’t have the needed ability to stream Spotify as well as have a way to unlock your downloaded library as its limited to a tethered connection. You’ll need to live with $40 solution. A cheap iPhone is the best you can do and run the Spotify app Spotify: Music and Podcasts

The compatibility of iPods is varied, able to play audio files in the format of AAC, MP3, PCM, Apple Lossless, FLAC, and Dolby Digital. However, all music from Spotify is streaming content protected by digital rights management so Spotify music is only available within Spotify itself. That’s why you cannot listen to Spotify music from iPod. If you want to reach Spotify music to iPod, the best choice is to remove the private content copyright from Spotify and convert Spotify music to iPod supported audio formats. How to do this? To achieve it, you may need Tunelf Spotify Music Converter for iPod. Then you can download Spotify music to an iPod for listening.

Spotify does not support music streaming on iPod Nano, Classic, or Shuffle. I‘ve read a post in the Spotify Community, saying that some old generations of iPod Touch can install the old Spotify app which stopped updating. Not sure whether this method is available for iPod Nano. Apologies that I cannot find that post now. https://www.audfree.com/spotify/sync-spo… This article here might be helpful to you. I use the Audfree music converter for Mac to download Spotify songs and then sync them to my iPod Classic.

As I know, Spotify doesn’t support Pod Nano, Classic, or Shuffle. But it is still possible to listen to Spotify music on the old generations of iPod Touch by using a little trick. And this is how I listen to Spotify songs on my iPod Shuffle. First, install the Spotify Converter on your computer. Then use it to download music from Spotify into the local folder. Last, move the local Spotify tracks to your old iPod Touches. These local Spotify tracks are playable without the Spotify app. You can refer to this article to get more details: https://www.audkit.com/spotify-music/spo

Thanks for the info, guys. Actually, I’d just buy a used iPhone for listening to music. Seems to be the most reasonable option to me. Actually, it’s exactly what my friend has done. Though he has a small collection of old iPods, he prefers using the iPhone to listen to Spotify. He says it’s more convenient and I agree with him. He also makes music, so I guess it’s the only reason he needs an iPhone and Spotify. He’s recently sold a few of his oldest iPods to buy some plays on streamingfamous.com. If I were him, I’d do the same thing. Anyway, just buy a used iPhone, man.
