and now many keys dont work. should i replace keyboard? laptop was on and running. pls help …now using onscreen keyboard and cant afford to replace the laptop…. thanks!…..struggling student
Are you comfortable removing the key board ? If you are I have had some success doing this . Remove the board from the laptop. While you have it open check for water damage , signs of corrosion on motherboard , and clean them with IP alcohol and a soft toothbrush. Then back to the key board . Pour some IP alcohol on the board between the keys and swish it around a bit , then use compressed air to dry it out repeat a few times then reinstall and hope for the best .If your really ambitious you an open each key and clean the contact with the IP alcohol and the soft toothbrush . ok remove keyboard… its dry..will do the motherboard area and the keyboard tmr. thanks alot! hope i will be able to fix it.
