So I accidentally spilled tea on my macbook which prompted it to shut down. When I was cleaning the inside for battery stains, I noticed that unusual gel-like substances formed around this particular region.
I think the battery or connector is damaged. I’m able to use my laptop, but it relies completely on a charger now. Initially the inside looked like this:
My macbook had shells and keyboard covers at the time, which probably reduced the damage. Should I replace my battery?
Batteries do not like liquid. Change it out when you clean the board so you know there won’t be any battery problems. It already looks like the BMS is corroded too.
