Chosen Solution

Hi, The laptop model is slightly different to chosen as there wasn’t an option for it: Acer Aspire 515-51G-77DD. I have had an issue recently where my sound will intermittently and under no seemingly obvious pattern, stop working on certain tabs. I will need to refresh once or a couple of times and it usually works again. Also, when this happens, if the video has its own audio level slider, I will not be able to move it and when I initially click the slider to move it, there will be sound for a split second and then I will be able to move it but the sound disappears and the slider will jump back to no sound, with no sound playing. Additionally, perhaps related as it started a week or two after this issue, some tabs will go sort of ‘blank’ when I click off them. For example I open an excel sheet on teams and click on to another tab. Then when I click back onto the sheet tab, I can’t see the sheet and will need to reopen it, though the web address and sidebar will be correctly displayed. Other people working on the same sheets don’t have this problem. Not sure if it’s possibly an ad on/virus/idk??? Please help/advise. TIA! :)

At first look I would say this is a software or operating system problem. Your decription is a little too general. “Tabs” what Tabs? Be more specific. What program, browser, what? Does it only happen in Excel, etc. On the other hand sound drivers may be corrupted. Try uninstalling the Sound drivers in Control Panel > Device Manager then after that Device Manger > Action > Scan for hardware changes. This should re-install the drivers and fix the problem. Let us know how it goes. O.K. that’s clearer. Go to Acer’s website, download the audio drive and install it.
