Hi, I’m a relatively experienced device repair technician. I’ve done a few iPad digitizer and it never fails, every time they comes back. Sometimes it’s for ghosting, which makes sense. But now for the 2nd time, I’ve got one back where the sound isn’t working. The ringtones all work but media and apps have no sound. How could doing a repair on the digitizer have anything to do with sound? Have you guys seen this before? Any fixes? Customers seem to get extremely angry when I can’t fix this, and I honestly have no idea how to.
It is a possibility as the top right of the iPad 2 has the volume button and power button cable flex being exposed to the point where you can cut it if you don’t lift up the glass properly. If that cable is cut, you won’t be able to use the volume buttons or the switch near the volume button. It’s usually to toggle the mute for the iPad.
