I have a Sony XBR-55X900E with a black screen. Up close it has a glow, so I assume the backlights still work. With a flashlight I do not see images. I continue to get sound, which is coming through my receiver. I replaced the T-CON board but that changed nothing. What next?
Hi @avontv2 , According to the service manual for the TV, given the symptoms you’re seeing the most likely cause is a faulty “B board” (see p.18 Troubleshooting triage chart, video - missing or distorted columns). There is also a “no picture” flowchart on p.36 which may be helpful to follow through. It shows that replacing the B board is the step before the last option which is replacing the LCD panel/TCON, which I think you said you tried Update (08/09/2019) Hi @avontv2 , Looking through the manual I think it may be the BMKS board but not 100% sure. @avontv2 since you already replaced the T-con board and it does appear that your set has a backlight function, replace the main board.
