Chosen Solution

After a digitizer replacement the LCD is solid red see photo. I tried another LCD same issue, so its clearly something on the board/connector but it was not like this before the repair. Any help is appreciated. https://www.dropbox.com/s/748sx9qb1gtp7o

It’s some sort of loose cable. I’ve had the exact same thing happen to me after my ipad2 experienced a slight drop on the floor. (You can still see things on the screen, but the red pattern is still always sort of there in the background, right?) Anyways, I read about this happening to other people online (try googling it) and the solution suggested one place, was to punch the back of the iPad. I turned it around, gave it a good solid couple of whacks, and it fixed the problem, works fine now.

You most likely picked up a defective LCD. You can always try a hard reset, if it doesn’t change anything this is probably the issue.

Ha! worked punching in the back

check the chips and component around he LCD connector,,,,,use magnifying classes
