Chosen Solution
Yesterday when we turn it on, it would turn off until a bit warm but today when we turned the Xbox on it is a solid red light. We removed the hard drive and inserted a memory card but that doesn’t work, we took the Xbox apart and did a full clean and it still doing the same, removed the cables and put everything back but that is also not working. I have been living on google the whole day. Anyone got some advice that I have not tried yet?
We know you get a red light on the console itself, what color is the light on the power brick? If it is red it is likely defective. If the power brick checks out okay, see if you can get a secondary error code out of the console. You should be able to do this by holding the controller sync button and then hitting the eject button. You can do this 4 times to get 4 numbers. One light illuminated is a 1, two lights is 2, 3 lights is 3, and 4 lights is 0.
