Hi Guys i have been repairing two ipad mini that hve the same issue. Right next to the battery conector there is a very small soldering that seems to be broken, have any of you had any experince on peparing this and how? The ipad mini i´m reparing is only charging until 17 % and the other one is charging to 8 %. I have read that this is the issue, because while disconecting the battery conector a finger nail or plier has riped of the small soldering part below the arrow.
That is the filter on the gas gauge line. Yes, it definitely needs to be there. You could short it out to see if that solves the problem but ideally the part should be replaced. This is a very tiny component and difficult to solder unless you have good tools or lots of experience. Ideally, you should look for a shop that can do micro-soldering repairs. It shouldn’t be too expensive if that is the only fix required.
