Ok, after spending a few hours searching through google to find what are ’normal’ temperatures for the Macbook Pro. Mine with Load Avg: 0.33, 0.40, 0.43 CPU usage: 6.63% user, 8.5% sys, 85.30% idle is ~65-66oC when using the dedicated GPU and ~5-8oC lower when using the embedded one. it hits 90-95 when playing games like World of Warcraft (heavy load, yeah) before the game starts to ‘slow down’… I imagine due to overheating. So what are the temperatures the CPU and GPU are expected to work on? What’s too high and can cause drop in performance? Thanks!
I use a program called Temperature monitor which will indicate which temps are out of line. I also use their paid version. Temperature Monitor is an application to read out all accessible temperature sensors in Macintosh computers. Those temps are not normal,mine just goes to 73-75C max.You should definetly clean your macbook pro,and put in some new thermal paste!
