Recently i made the mistake of thinking backglass replacement would be easy and decided to try it myself my tool pushed between the coil and metal frame causing smoke and small sparks causing the iPhone to only turn on when plugged in then later not turning on at all and sticking in a boot loop it’s still recognizable in recovery mode and it says it charges when plugged in obviously not tho I suspect it’s the battery as it kinda smells but I don’t know I’m hoping it’s not the logic board it happened on the right side of the iPhone when facing down
Question 1. Did you unplug the battery before you attempted the repair? If yes, it’s for sure the battery. No other place that sparks and smoke would have originated if the board had no power. And right side of the phone is where the battery would be anyways. So I would say. Step one is new battery. Battery is definitely on the other side of the coil in many places. Hopefully whatever thermal event did not damage any other components. But even a damaged battery could cause no power or no boot. Pop the phone open and see what the damage is.
