Hi, so I recently replace my battery on my late 2012 MBP 13” retina and everything when well. But when I was about to put it all back together I noticed a spark when I pushed down on the battery one more time to make sure the adhesive was stuck good. After investigating I found that I could cause the spark by pressing down on a specific spot right above ssd bay (see picture) but it doesn’t happen every time I press. Although I was able to get it spark enough to get some pictures and video. The computer boots and works fine and the battery seems to be working ok. I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this or if this might be any sort of fire hazard. Thanks for your time and info.
If you are getting spark then it’s either a short circuit in the connections or the chemicals in the battery are separated by very thin layer and they are coming in contact when they are not supposed to do so. There are many possibilities about why it may be happening. FYI, You could always detach all the sub parts and connect them again and then check whether the problem still persists.
