Hi I upgraded the battery in my iPhone 4S a few days back and since then I can’t get any signal on my phone. Yesterday I took apart the iPhone again and I saw a small square piece that should connect to the logic board. It laid under the battery. Has this thing something to do with signal strength? Thanks Max

Max Andreasson, the part that “fell off” is reference designator J4_RF which is a MS-180 RF Connectors / Coaxial Connector manufactured by Hirose Connector. It will need to be reconnect it in order for you . Check the datasheet on here, it will show you how and where the solder points are. Not an easy chore since it will require some very fine soldering, but definitely doable. Scraping anything off will only make things worse since for now your solder pads still look intact. Stop scraping and get it fixed. Hope this helps, good luck.

Yip that is til do with signal.. How did you manage to knock this off

While that could be the female antenna socket on the board, it honestly looks like it could be the antenna itself. Can you find a spot on the board that looks like it is missing the component? Also check for any pry damage along the edge of the board that faces the battery. jessa

This looks like the test connector, just short out the soldering pads on the logic board.
