Hi, I recently tried to install a new screen in my iphone and during re-assembly a small gold clip about 5mm long dropped out, I have looked at all the 4s exploded views I can find and that part is never there. Also now flash sin’t working on camera and nor is wifi, anyone got any ideas why this is so? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I now have a £500 phone in bits on my desk. :-(
Is it this?
Also, any idea on the black rubber part?
it’s probably the where the camera mounts. without pictures, i can’t know for sure. i recommend following the guide to replace the lcd screen for the phone. it’ll show step by step instructions and you’ll eventually come across that part in the walk-through. Update iPhone 4S Screen Replacement Step 16, enlarge the picture where the person has the camera in his finger tips. Look where the camera was and you’ll notice the piece you’re missing. It’s normally underneath the black sticker on your logic board where the camera sits. The location of the black rubber piece is a problem I’ve been having also. I’m almost certain it was on the logic board by the display ribbon connector, the top edge, but i’m not certain. I’ll let you know if I figure it out. Please do the same if you find out. Update Step 23 also shows the gold clip as well. That screw he takes out holds that gold clip in. Update Step 25 also shows a very clear picture. Enlarge the picture to the max and you’ll see it at the bottom right. Update lol, step 26 pretty much sums up everything…
Yes the gold piece is the camera ground clip and is held in place with a screw on the upper left of the circuit board. The black piece is a protector that is on the upper left/top of the circuit board for the Screen connection ribbons to bend over and connect to the circuit board.
The gold piece is the camera ground. It belongs under the motherboard corner screw closest to the camera. The “prongs” should be against the top of the case and the screw covered with the black “tape”. Hope this helps.
