Hi, Here is a link which shows how to “troubleshoot” problems at startup with Win8.1 and Win10 (you didn’t specify). Go to advanced options and decide from there. It sounds like there might be a problem with Defender. In the advanced options , there is windows start up options. Disable defender and see if this improves your startup. If so you may have to uninstall / reinstall defender. http://www.howtogeek.com/107511/how-to-b

You may also want to run a sfc scan https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/9… Hope this helps

You can try to optimize your boot from settings too. Here is good video for win10 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbC7QIia… And your win defender error occurs because your saved path to program files is wrong. It can occur when file is move to different place or the file structure is change so the program can’t read it.

Had same slow boot with Windows 10, fresh install following hard drive replacement. Was taking 1 minute 20 secs to load windows. On a Lenovo z50. Found the Bios time and date was incorrect. Set the time and date correctly and now takes 8 seconds. Vast improvement but no idea why this would cause it though I did notice Windows set its own clock. Must have been of the internet somehow.
