Just installed IFIXIT’s display assembly and “slide to unlock” doesn’t work nor does the slide to power off function. Hard reset does work but just gets me back to
. I received the phone with broken screen from my daughter who was using the “assertive touch feature. See whitish circle at 3 o’clock on photo of screen. Hitting that opens up choices but the hitting the icons doesn’t seem to do anything. thanks for your thoughts
Turns out the new display from Ifixit is bad. I tried it in a second iphone 5 and it didn’t worth properly in that one either. I could not fully enter my 4 digit pass code in the second phone. I have requested a return/exchange approval from ifixit.
It sounds like you have a or some dead zones on the digitizer. This could be caused by a faulty replacement screen or something went wrong during the installation. Open up the device again and closely inspect the flexible connectors coming from the screen. Also take a close look at the connectors on both the flexes and the logic board. If you see any damage or debris, that could be the cause.
