My microphone works for phone calls and for recording, but Siri can’t hear me (total flat line) nor can I dictate into any app. I’ve checked all the settings. Rebooted, etc. all the usual things. However, Siri and voice dictation work fine through my headphone jack, just not through the microphone. Is this a hardware problem?

There are 3 microphones in the iPhone. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203792 The bottom microphone is for Voice Memo and phone calls. The other microphones serve as error cancellationThe (top) front microphone is used for FaceTime calls, Siri and selfie videos with the front camera (FCAM). The top back microphone serves as error cancellationThe (top) back microphone is used for videos with the rear camera (RCAM). The top front microphone serves as error cancellation I would test the microphones with the appropriate apps to determine if the problem is specific to a microphone (change the appropriate flex) or multiple microphones which could indicate a logic board problem.

use a toothbrush, and lightly brush the mic holes and you’ll see that the rainbow wave animation moves for both top and bottom mics. Siri has stopped on two iphone X’s after jailbreaking. Also a samsung watch wont connect either but it will after a clean reset.

Same issue here microphone working fine on other apps not problem, Siri works with side bar and hears me fine. Only issue I can activate “hey Siri” feature. Was working before update 14.2 on iPhone XR
