Chosen Solution

Hi, I have a iPhone 6 plus that has recently developed a issue where siri can’t hear me and the front camera video audio is loud static, Also headphones with remotes and mic’s built in sometime don’t work unless shoved in the socket with a bit of force. The housing is needing to be replaced and was thinking it could be the lightning and headphone flex cable could be the root cause of the issue. Hope someone has solved this issue before Thanks Lloyd

There are 3 microphones in the iPhone. The bottom microphone is for Voice Memo and phone calls. The other microphones serve as error cancellation The (top) front microphone is used for FaceTime calls, Siri and selfie videos with the front camera (FCAM). The top back microphone serves as error cancellation The (top) back microphone is used for videos with the rear camera (RCAM). The top front microphone serves as error cancellation. You may have two separate problems here, related to the damaged housing. Lightning Port Front Microphone Otherwise, there may be something wrong with the audio circuitry on the logic board.
