Chosen Solution
So as the title suggests, I have a black line down the display now. This is self inflicted as I’ve just had to chop the whole bloody thing apart to upgrade the RAM and swap out the disk for a SSD - which all works fine btw, no issues there - but the end result has been this black line down the display.
It doesn’t appear in screenshots nor on my second monitor so it’s isolated to the display or the display data cable. I’ve tried flushing NVRAM and I’ve tried looking for any discernible breaks of blemishes in any of the cables or circuits… nothing. Any ideas?
Ouch! You did your self in ;-{ In the process of removing the display you damaged the LCD panels connections along the edge. If you had gotten the special adhesive cutter which is part of this kit [linked product missing or disabled: IF173-005-1] it would have likely saved you.
