Solved Sim Card Slot Won T Close Completely Iphone Xs Max

Second hand in phone and owner took out the SIM card with it still powered on. When trying to replace it with mine it now won’t close completely thus not able to read the new SIM card. Suggestions?

Are you sure the SIM tray that is in the device is the original SIM tray? Using the incorrect SIM tray without a SIM card may sometimes go in normally, but then with a SIM card in place, are unable to be inserted fully.

Also ensure that you’re using the correct microSIM card and that it can fit into other devices and SIM trays.
