So, hello guys I just bought a used Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9250. Everything works fine except of the SIM-card reader. When I pulled out the Microsimcardadapter I damaged two of the pins (contacts). My question: How can I fix that? Is there a way to fix it without changing the simcardreader? Do I have to buy a new simcardreader? Where could I buy a simcardreader? Thank you very much for answers! Update Thanks for your answer! Just made some pics of the broken sim card junctor.
I’d try contacting one of the contributors on here called hector truong, he mostly fixes these problems on iphones but the parts have got to be similar… I’m not his agent, he has repaired a phone for me in the past so I know he’s good. You may like to email him from his profile page to see if he can do this work.
The place in Holland won’t ship to North America. I will give you a place in England that can fix the phone. You will have to ship the phone to England. They will give you a quote .if you agree to repairs they will ship the phone Back to you. It takes about 2 weeks. Here is the email bicester@phoneland.co.uk Address Samsung Care Point Phoneland 19B Sheep ST. Bicester OX26 6JF Phone 01869 242500 Regards Mike
OK, maybe not a pukka fix but the same thing happened to me while on holiday. Samsung Nexus snapped Sim pin due to an adapter hooking on the pins. Solution: tin foil from a Rolo, made into a small plug that just fits into the slot over the pin. Hold it in place with a needle from a hotel sewing kit. Slide SIM card in over the tin foil. Been using the phone like this for the past three weeks. Writing this reply on the self same phone. Jerry-rigged perhaps, but a fix nonetheless.
Come one guys, you find that part on ebay for 3-5 USD (shipping included), it just need to be soldered. Ask some people who repair electronics or iphone/ipads. In my town in germany they do it for flat 35 USD / 25 EUR. Sim tray 4,75 USD included shipping or same part for 3 USD including shipping
Resinator, can you please tell me where in Germany I can send my phone for that kind of repairs? I have an Xperia play with the same issue (i broke my sim reader by inserting an empty micro sim adapter in it) I recently got the replacement part, but if it really costs 25 EUR to repair it, I would much rather send it to that shop than try to fix it myself with the risk of doing even more damage. I’d appreciate any help. Thanks!
Hello Everybody, The sim card reader seem to be popular these days, especially since the new micro sim came in. It’s not putting it in but the migration form one phone to the other or different brands. If anyone is listening before :))) ruining the phone use scotch tape on the back of the sim to secure it in place with the sim-adaptor. Use scoth tape to pull the sim out evenly (secure the sim before pussing or pulling it ALWAYS) I am doing SIM card reader replacement for 50 euros +tax that wll be 60.50 euros or 83$ all together on today exchange rate. I think it’s a fair price, shipping will be handled by the customer. My Huawei had one of the middle contact legs broken so it didn’t read the sim-card. After I tried using a tiny rolled tin-foil under the card as I inserted it back, it worked and am sorted thankfully to the tip…
