bought a new camera sony dsch300, whe going through the set up guide I get to the last page prompting ne to visit the sony web site. when I press okay the camera turns its self off
It may have shut off after finishing the setup. You didn’t say if you could turn it back on and use it. Make sure your batteries are good and if using NiMH rechargables (usually the best) that they are all good and charged. You might try new ones with the highest rating you can find (mAH) There is a type that holds the charge for up to a year, those are best.
I also have this problem, got 2 dsc h300’s from an auction lot and they both do the same thing, start up, go through the whole setup process up to the sony website prompt like OP said but after pressing ok the screen goes black and the camera is dead, they turn back on but it just repeats the same thing over and over, at first I thought it would be because I didn’t have a memory card in but I tried with a memory card and fresh batteries and it made no difference, does anyone know if there’s an actual solution to this or have I just got 2 dud cameras? Thanks
