Chosen Solution

Hi guys, I have a 55" Samsung model UN55H6203AF which shut down all of a sudden 2 weeks ago and I’m trying to repair it too. I opened up the TV and look for blown components on the power board but I saw nothing, my next step is to check the resistors and the fuses with a multimeter, because I heard something that definitely blew up when it failed, but I did not see any sparks or smoke, just the sound. Now here is my question, I looked online at the samsung spare parts distributor and I can replace the whole power board for $85, how likely is the issue to be solved by doing this? Do you think that there will be something else later that I have to replace? I can give you more info of the failure if needed, I really want to get this fixed by my self instead of paying $400 for a repair. Thanks all!

ja_esgo  that is a big depends. Depends on what and why it has failed. You have not told us if your TV shows any signs of life. Let us know if there is any power LED lit or anything. Then post some pictures of all of your boards with your question. That way we can see what you see. Use this guide for that Adding images to an existing question Right now it does sound like a bad power board. If it is, there is no reason to assume that anything else will fail soon. Again, this is just an assumption until you have done some tests. For some preliminary test use the flowchart provided.

Since you report that there is no standby light, we can assume that the power board has a problem. It may be as simple as the fuse (not likely), but I would suspect that an IC on the bottom of the board has failed. You can get a “new” one on Ebay from the link below for $30. This one came from set with a broken screen. This is your best bet at this point. Dan Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-UN55H62
