So, last year i have replaced the ipad touch screen. Unfortently doing that i kind of broke the FPC connector on the motherboard. Some of the “gold pins” came out, but none of them are in the same column. I mean, with the multimeter i checked that pins on the same column are shunted, so in that time i stayed with the idea that should not be a problem. I reasembly the ipad and every line and column on the touch screen worked great. This days the touch screen started to manifest some ghost problems. I wanna make a replacement again but before doing that i want ask you guys for your help. It’s my thought correct about the connector ? Or should i replace also the connector? It’s intencional the pins are shunted for this type of problems ? Or they should shunt something in touch screen connector itself (not on motherboard)? Best regards, Update (03/02/2018)

Here is a detailed picture!

A picture of the damaged connector would help us determine whether or not the pins are important. Several pins are for ground and some are for the sleep/wake sensor. The rest are for the actual digitizer itself. In an ideal world, you should have the connector replaced but perhaps you are lucky that the damaged pins are not critical.
