Chosen Solution

I purchased a refurbished iphone 4. The back panel has the model A1387, which is the model# for a 4S. The phone is 4 though, there was no option for Siri when I set it up. So I’m guess they just used the back of 4S replace a broken one. I need to replace the battery. Should I order the 4 battery or the 4S? Or is there another way to tell what’s on the inside without opening it?

I would recommend purchasing the iPhone 4 battery because that is supposedly the model of the unit. The difference between the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S is that the battery connector to the logic board was changed from the right side of the battery to the left side of the battery, respectively so you will notice rather quickly whether or not you have the right battery. If the unit itself is an iPhone 4, then buy an iPhone 4 battery. It can be purchased here: iPhone 4 Battery. Also, here is the link to the repair guide to help you along: iPhone 4 Battery Replacement. Hope this helps and please keep us updated on your progress.

Go to settings then about and go to serial number now hold finger on it then copy it And paste it in to the link I gave you it’s a warranty checker but it will tell you the model iPhone you have https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWar
