Chosen Solution

So recently my phone fell in water & I thought it was over & needed a new phone so I started watching YouTube videos & seen people taking their phone apart so I tried it & in the process of me doing that I was taking my battery out & I kinda tore into some of the battery cover & seen silver under the black wrapper but I jus cut into it a lil bit so I cover the piece with tape but It has a smell to it that I’m kinda worried about someone help!! Ps. The phone is working for now

If you can smell the chemicals, then you should replace the battery. As for the water damaged: Open your phone and remove the logic board (follow this guide)Inspect the logic board, especially around the connectors and look for corrosion.Inspect both sides of the board. Unfortunately, most of the board is covered in shields. That’s usually where the damage is occurring.Put your board in a container with >90% isopropyl alcohol and let it sit for a while.Use a soft brush, like a toothbrush and lightly brush away any corrosion you see.Rinse in alcohol and repeat.Let it air dry for a day.Re-assemble and hope for the best.

The best way to go about this is to turn off the phone and take it to a reputable phone repair shop for liquid damage evaluation.
