Hi all, I self-upgraded my Macbook’s SSD using this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5osw0UB… Tomorrow I’m taking my laptop to have Apple themselves replace the battery (free replacement) due to it having worn out. From what I can tell, they are going to replace the bottom half of the enclosure due to the battery being soldering to it. Should I put the original hard drive back in temporarily to avoid them asking questions/getting narky/saying I’ve voided my qualification for a free battery replacement? Cheers, Andy
Free replacement? I find that very hard to believe. I would also put the original SSD drive back in. If this is indeed a 2012 model, after you find out just how much Apple is going to charge you, here’s how to do it yourself: MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Mid 2012 Battery Replacement
